Folk Songs – Créations

Prochaines dates

Convinced in the need to make contemporary music a living art and close to the public, Ensemble21 privileges its relationship to the arts of space and the poetic dimension in the choice of its repertoire.

It is Folk songs, the work of Luciano Berio, who brought Ensemble21 together for the first time in 1999, for a concert at the Museum of Spontaneous Art, warmly welcomed by music critics. Since then, the Ensemble21 has not ceased to distinguish itself by the rigor and enthusiasm of its services and combines supposedly contradictory qualities: attention to detail and spontaneity.

To celebrate its 20th anniversary Ensemble21 proposes to the composers with whom it has developed real affinities over the years, to write new Folk Songs, inspired by Berio’s instruments: voice, flute, clarinet, viola, cello, harp, and percussion (with violins, double bass, and piano in addition).
