BACH – BUXTEHUDE / THE ENCOUNTER

Taking advantage of the anniversaries of both the birth and death of composer Dietrich Buxtehude (1637 – 1707), who still remains little-known today, Ensemble21 proposes an original concert inspired by the theme of the encounter: the encounter between 20 year-old Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 – 1750) with Dietrich Buxtehude in Lübeck in 1705, but also the encounter between the past and the present by connecting the music of these two Baroque masters with that of Eliott Delafoss, a young composer from the Composition Class at the Conservatoire in Mons. On this occasion, the musicians of Ensemble21 will play Baroque instruments.

Dietrich Buxtehude, cantate Jesu, meines Lebens Leben, BuxWV 62
Dietrich Buxtehude, cantate Der Herr ist mit mir, BuxWV 15
